Dan, had a look and could not find this number any chance it is 0048 (550048) if so this was 20% damaged in an air raid on Merignac on 27-3-44 and was with II/KG40,

Hello Brian,

Well, that He 177 was found on the airfield cannibalised Rennes St Jacques in the U.S..
I thought it could be a He 177 loss in the aera of Rennes July 5, 1944. I am looking for the loss of a He 177. Crew bailed out.

0948 Found at Rennes Wn is wrong it doesn't look as a valid He177 Wn,

Brian, where hv found the loss on 27 of march ??

Hi Remi,

Its in the Griel/Dressel He177 book - A5 550048 KM+TX 27-03-44 II/KG40 Luftangriff and in the Smith/Creek He177 book which lists damage to 12 He177's in the raid,

Are there details for all twelve aircraft? I have only 11 listed as damaged/destroyed in the raid.

Hi Andreas,

He177A3 5868 is shown as 2% damaged and 5732 as 5% all the others 15-80%, I guess it one of these with minor damage you have not got,
