Merlin at MUSEE D DAY OMAHA

I recently visited Normandy and while on a tour bus driving away from Omaha Beach, I noticed a Merlin with beat-up prop in front of this museum: MUSEE D DAY OMAHA, VIERVILLE-SUR-MER.

Couldn't stop or get a photo, but I did find an image on Flickr:

Anyone know it's origin and/or history?
