Kattersnaundorf wasn't located on the river Saale but on the half distance between Delitzsch and Leipzig. I wrote "was" because there is an opencast mining now.

Maximilian von Obauer-Bannerfeld was born in Klattau (now Klatovy in Czech).

Best wishes

Thanks, that´s great!

After your message I find:
778/2_15 44.03.03 L.R. Erla-Flzg.Werke Kattersnaundorf
Zusammenstoss in der Luft (s.lfd. Nr.26) Bf 109 G6 411912 60% Ofhr.Thurau 1/-/-
778/2_15 44.03.03 L.R. Erla-Flzg.Werke Kattersnaundorf
Zusammenstoss in der Luft (s.lfd. Nr.27) Bf 109 G6 39051 100% -/-/-
778/2_15 44.03.03 L.R. Erla-Flzg.Werke Delitzsch
Bruchlandung infolge techn. Mängel Bf 109 G5 34049 55% -/-/-

So, you thing the name Thurau in Verlustmeldung is incorrect?
