Re: 43 Sqd Hurricanes, P3267, N2621, Codes?

I am sorry that I have not replied earlier....I think you e-mailed me about this??

I have checked in my book by Osprey and I see that I didn't quote codes for these aircraft then (2003) and I am certain that I haven't ascertained them since. However, I cannot get to my 43 Squadron box file at present but I am 99.9% certain I do not have the codes you seek. If I manage to dig out the file I will look....but don't hold your breath for information I don't think exists!

It wasnt me who Emailed you, 2 small books have been published covering Isle of Wight air crashes, perhaps it was one of those authors.
I have an interest in that I am modelling a selection of IOW related aircaft and to date have only been able to ascertain some 25% of codes.
N2621 may be U but I have no confirmation of this. I am aware that there are descrepancies in the published records for this aircraft and there is some doubt that this is actually the aircraft involved in this incident.
I have tried to narrow the field with 43 squadron and have identified quite a number of aircraft by code however without the relevant dates on charge it is difficult to ascertain likely candidates.

Thanks

Pete
