145 Sqn Hurricane Mk1s, 1940
Hello
I am looking for the individual serial codes for the following aircraft which all came down on the Isle of Wight. SO-? P3164 Shot down 11/8/1940, crash landed near Mottistone Manor Pilot Sqn Ldr J Peel, Injured. Aircraft recovered and repaired. V6627 Shot down 6/11/1940, crashed near Hasley Manor Pilot Flt Sgt D K Hare baled out, died from injuries. R4177 Crashed 6/11/1940 near Duxmore Farm, Ashey Pilot Flt Sgt J Weber OK P2924 Shot down 7/11/1940, crash landed Old Park, St Lawrence Pilot F/O D B Sykes minor injuries P2683 Shot down 7/11/1940, Crashed Chalk Pit, Ashey Down Pilot P/O J Ashton OK R2683 Shot down 7/11/1940, Force landed on Island (no location) No Pilot identified. Aircraft recovered. Did this aircraft exist or is that listed above with one or the other serial numbers wrong? Thanks Pete |
