Bf. 110 near Forchheim Ofr.

Hello, I am looking for a Bf. 110 nightfighter, which was shot down in the night of 30./31. of march 1944. It landed near Forchheim in northern bavaria.
Before emergency-landing he shot down a Halifax of RCAF HX-272 of the 433 Sgn. Pilot was P/O Chris Nielsen RCAF. Both Pilots survived.

Many thanks

CharlyP

According to "The Nachtjagd War Diaries Vol I" By Dr Theo Boiten, Halifax HX-272 was shot down by Lt. Wilhelm Seuss of 11./NJG5 for his sixth victory. He claimed four confirmed that night.

If so I can find no reference to it. While Bomber Command were being slaughtered that night Nachtjagd losses were only five lost and five damaged over 60%.

Stendal or Parchim possibly. Perhaps another forum member can help here?

Re: Bf. 110 near Forchheim Ofr.

I have it, he was based in Erfurt-Bindersleben.

After this raid, he returned also to Erfurt. So - no crash-landing.

But there shall be another nightfighter which made a crash-landing near village Weigelshofen.
