W.34 shot down 6/11/39

Hi guys

On 6 November 1939, a Junkers W.34 on a target simulation flight was shot down in error by AA guns located in the southern outskirts of Hamburg. The three crew baled out safely.

Can anyone add to the above please?

Cheers
Brian

Re: W.34 shot down 6/11/39

The aircraft was W.34hi W.Nr. 4057 Kennzeichen WL-OLBS of Luftdienskdo. 62. It flew target simulation practice for Fluggruppe Delmenhorst from 8 p.m. but at 9.45 p.m. the aircraft entered the air defence zone over Hamburg and was shot down. It crashed in the area of Hamburg Freihafen. The Bordfunker was unhurt, the pilot slightly injured in his right hip and the Borwart slighty injured. Unfortunately I do not have the names of this crew.

Many thanks, Seaplanes.

Just what I was seeking.

I haven't forgotten your enquiry, it's just that I haven't been to NA yet!

Cheers
