Re: Jgr.200 1.Samml ???
Jagdgruppe 200 was a Bf 109 fighter unit operating in defence of southern France from June - Agusut 1944 (activated from an advanced training unit after the Overlord landings).
It left most of its aircraft behind when the Germans pulled out of the Riviera in the face of the Allied invasion of 15 August 1944. If your friend's document said "JGr. 200 1. Sammlung (sanitäts)" then it may mean "JGr. 200, first collection (medical)". I'm guessing here but maybe sick and wounded of the unit were to be flown out of Dijon in Ju 52s? I'll see if I have any information on wrecked aircraft at Dijon that would help. I researched this a long time ago, so I can't say fore sure. |

Thanks your reponse, we have diverses interrrogations about this unity on http://www.aerostories.org/~aeroforums/forumhist/
your web site was named by one forumer in the discussion (congratulations) and we think too, Ju 52 was perhaps planes used by Jgr200 for the transit ... Best Regards, Dan

Re: Jgr.200 1.Samml ???
I checked my files.
In all, 12 Ju 52s were found at Dijon. All were described as “scrap.” The only information about markings recorded by the Allies was as follows: two of the aircraft had a “red cross painted on wing” and another had the Werk Nummer 7765 on its fin and the partial code +PP. |

Re: Jgr.200 1.Samml ???
Still thank you nick for these invaluable details, I sought for Wk without success for the moment, on a website specialized about Junker 52 and in the book of Nowarra, (the listing finishes before 7765 ).
Best regards, Dan
