![]() Hello,
Is there a listing of Allied Planes - bombers and fighters - captured and then recycled by the German Air Force ? I had Informations that one B 17 made in Spring 1944 near Giessen/Germany a belly landing. Later this B 17 was on the Giessen Airfield rebuild. Greetings Peglar |

Re: Captured USAAF planes
Hello Peglar
I don't have a list however here is a link to a photo of a possible captured B-24 on the Junker Factory Airfield Dessau May 30, 1944: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24554019@N06/4647187057/ I know nothing about how it got there however I understand that a B-24 undercarriage was used for the JU 287 jet bomber. Re: Captured USAAF planes
Try, for example, Strangers in a Strange Land, by H.-H. Stapfer, published by Squadron/Signal Publ. in the US.
