Major Erwein Graf Nostitz-Rieneck

Hello,

Major Erwein Graf Nostitz-Rieneck (*17.7.1898) should serve in Luftwaffe in 1941 until at least 1944. Does somebody know more about his Service in Luftwaffe?

Thanks for help

Re: Major Erwein Graf Nostitz-Rieneck

I have searched our Luftwaffe officer career database of 31,000 fellows and there is no reference to such a person.

A search of the Kracker database also came up dry.

It could well be that this fellow was actually an army guy attached to, or even transferred to, the Luftwaffe for a while, then perhaps returned to the army (or died). This was not uncommon.

Beyond that, I am not sure what to suggest. If he was a Major in 1941, perhaps he made General Major before war's end. In that case, he might have a write up in the Karl-Friedrich Hildebrand volumes pertaining to army generals (published by Biblio Verlag). You might find something in the Axis Biographical Research site.

That's about all we have on this subject.

Good luck!

Re: Major Erwein Graf Nostitz-Rieneck

Thanks for reply and help. Actually, Erwein von Nostitz-Rieneck traf to Wehrmacht in 1939 and from 1941 served in Luftwaffe. He served during WWI in Austro-Hungarian Army and ended as Leutnant. He started to serve in Luftwaffe in 1941 and in 1944 he should serve in Rank of Major somewhere on Western Front, probably in Koblenz.

Other possibilities of his Noble Name is Nostitz-Rhinek or simply Nostitz.

This information are from Sicherheitsdienstmeldung so I am sure this informations should be correct.
