Stahlschmidt - 21 February 1942

Hi guys

On 21 February 1942, Leutnant Hans-Arnold Stahlschmidt (59 victories, RK-EL, killed in action 7 September 1942) of 2./JG 27 was shot down in aerial combat, possibly by the Australian ace S/Ldr Clive Caldwell (28.5 confirmed, 6 probable and 15 damaged victories) of 250 Sqn, RAF. He was able to crash-land his damaged fighter in no-man's land where he was rescued by a German reconnaissance patrol. Would anyone have any loss list details of the aircraft that he was flying on that occasion? Many thanks.

Horrido!

Leo
