Dresden Footage and Flak
Just reading Frederick Taylors book "Dresden" obvioulsy about the famous RAF raid on Tuesday 13th February.
I have two questions. Several references to RAF aircrew accounts say the bomb runs were straight forward because of NO flak. Was there honestly no flak at all or simply it was so little compared to say Berlin, that the RAF aircrews described it as none at all ? Also, on the second wave, Lancaster Y of 463 Squadron took footage for almost 8 minutes of the burning city from almost three miles up. Is this footage available on the internet to view? Thanks Jon |

Re: Dresden Footage and Flak
Jon,
I read this book a long time ago..and vividly remember that there was, apparently ( and literally ) NO opposition. By the way, are you related to a TAPPER pilot who flew with 627 Squadron? I do remember a similar name related to that Mosquito Squadron. Yours Adriano |
