Airmen buried at Cambridge Cemetery
I am doing some research into some of the airmen buried at Cambridge Cemetery. Could anyone help please to source some photographs of any of the following men.

Hi
Thanks for posting the full details. There is no particular reason other than that I already have photographs of the headstones with respect to these men. I have visited the cemetery a number of times and I would very much like to put something together concerning an airmen who is buried there. If anyone has any other pictures of airmen who rest there then I would also be interested in those. Thanks again Steve |

I have the photograph of G/C John Raymond Jeudwine OBE DSO DFC who died on 19 october 1945 in a flying accident at Little Staughton. Can add lot of details if you need . Alain |

Ok Steve, do you know if there is a possibility to know about the date of the funeral ? Is there a place in Cambridge where we can trace some informations about this ??

Further info available by internet search provides:-
100 Squadron Lancaster JB560 (HW-N) Operation Berlin 16/17th December 1943 Date 2 17th December 1943 JB560 was delivered to 100 Sqdn ex 460 Sqdn 27 Nov 43. When lost this aircraft was on its second operation and had a total of 19 hours. JB560 was one of four 100 Sqdn Lancasters lost during this operation. See JB596; JB674; JB678 Airborne 1613 16 Dec 43 from Grimsby. Crashed on return in bad weather near Kelstern airfield, Lincolnshire. W/C Holford and WO2 Wareham are buried in Cambridge City Cemetery; the others were taken back to their home towns. W/C Holford was 100 Sqdn Commanding Officer. W/C D.W.Holford DSO DFC KIA Sgt J.Wunderley KIA WO2 H.B.Wareham RCAF KIA Sgt R.E.Mason KIA Sgt R.Mackay Inj F/S H.Whybrow KIA F/S D.Bolinbroke Inj Of the other losses suffered that night (apart from their C. O.) JB674 collided in midair with another 100 Sqdn Lancaster (JB678), both Lancasters falling at 0040 17 Dec 43 near Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Three are buried in Cambridge City Cemetery. A terrible night for this specialist Squadron. |
