Churchill's Praise of Comrade Stalin:

Winston Churchill had nothing but praise for his partner in crime, Josef Stalin who was described as the paragon of virtue, wisdom and greatness. Here are a few samples of the adoration Churchill had for his comrade and partner:

Churchill: "I like him the more I see him."

Churchill: "The new confidence which has grown in our hearts toward Stalin."

Churchill: "We regard Marshal Stalin's life as most precious to the hopes and hearts of all of us."

Those Churchill quotes were taken from speeches in the House of Commons after Germany went to war with Russia. Obviously just politics. At the same time, Churchill told a personal aide "If the Devil went to war with Germany, I would be obliged to say a few kind words on his behalf in the House".

It is arguable that German civilians were defenceless against bombing — they were certainly defended. The people the SS dedicated itself to slaughtering had no fighters, Flak or armies to protect them for they had already been conquered.
