artillery spotters Piper L4 ...specialist needed

Hi,

searching about a shot down L4, it seems those light plane often were depending of ground units.

Could maybe someone indicate name of a specialist that could have worked about those "not USAAF" olive painted light planes, or good books about those planes?

Maybe help would come from an "Infantry specialist" ...having interest on those "artillery planes" being part of ground division.

Sure here on "TOCH" are most specialist concerned about air forces but ...maybe ???

Concerned units would be 79th DIUS "Lorraine Cross" (or maybe 45th DIUS "Thunderbird") in Alsace (eastern France, Europe) in late november 1944

Thanks for any help;

Mathias
