Exclamation 1st Lt Carlson P-38 pilot

Hello
1st Carlson a P-38 fighter pilot was wounded when he was shot down on june 21 1944 near the village off
St-Pietersvoeren in Belgium . Probably he was a victim off a Fw-190 from /JG 26. Is there someone who has additional info on this crash ?

Regards

Re: 1st Lt Carlson P-38 pilot

Only one pilot named Carlson served with 8th Air Force P-38 groups and he died March 19, 1944 in an accident. Three men named Carlson flew P-38's with the 9th Air Force and none of them were shot down. Not sure if this person would have been a PRU pilot.

Re: 1st Lt Carlson P-38 pilot

Perhaps not shot down but a Lt. Carlson of the 370th FG did bail out of a P-38 at Pietersvoeren on 16 September 1944. There were two Carlsons with the 370th - John H 485th FS and Oscar W 402nd FS but I don't know which one was involved. Seems a bit of a long gap though between 21 June and 16 September. The only additional information I have is that he returned to unit.

John H. Carlson did not serve overseas with the 485th Fighter Squadron; he transferred out in November of 1943.
