Siegfried von Eschwege
Hello, Everybody!
Does any of you happen to know any details about Hauptmann Siegfried von Eschwege? (His date of birth and maybe also of death if he is already dead, perhaps a photo...) Thank you in advance. :-)

Hi, I hope the following helps: He was Born 1909 and served with I/JG132,
Adjutant JG52 (19.8.39-30.11.39), Kommandeur I/JG52 (1.12.39-26.8.40), Erg.Gr.Merseburg, Ia 5.Jagddivision (3.10.44- .45) He was unhurt on 15 May 1940, Bf109E-3 believed damaged in combat with RAF Hurricanes (3., 607.and 625.Sqd.) Between Namur and Dinant, at 1130 hours. He belly-landed near Liège, Belgium, sustaining 85 % damage. He returned to his unit three days later. Awarded the EKI in August 1940. He gave up command of I/JG52 due to a grumbling appendix. Promoted to Oberstleutnant i.G. on 1 April 1944. Regards, Mike
