various Staffelkapitan's of ZG1 & ZG26

Hi

I have tried everything to identify some officers(from Micro Films) from ZG1 & ZG26, even spent hours scrutinizing there losses for a suitible name, but have concluded that they never came to grief. however it occured to me that as they are either Oberleutnant's or Hauptmann's, that they may very well have been Staffelkapitan's, so could anybody please tell me who was Staffelkapitan of 4./ZG 1 in March 1942, 6./ZG1 August 1942, 1,.ZG26 May 1944, and 10./ZG26 September 1944, seems that 10./ZG26 remained in service a tad longer than the other Staffels before it was dis-banded.

Grateful for any assistance.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Hptm. Walter Poka von Pokafalva was Staka of 4./ZG1 and also acting-Gruppenkommandeur at the time of his death on 7th March 1943.

Thanks lads, but it doesn't help!

It should have helped, with 4./ZG1 I am unlucky with the Kommandeur/Staffelkapitan status, so my Oberleutnant didn't get a look in.

With 6./ZG1, I have a Hauptmann claiming, but an Oberelutnant as Staffelkapitan!

With 1./ZG26 I read the appalling hand writing on the Micro Film as "Sautke", but I guess if I give it another looking it just could be Dunker!

Thanks ago though.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Are you sure that the year is 1943 or should it read 1942 ?

Typo. Should be 1942. Thanks, and apologies for getting it wrong there.

Re: various Staffelkapitan's of ZG1 & ZG26

This is what I have for 1./ZG 26 1943-1944;

11.10.1943-23.02.1944 Oblt. Peter Jenne
~28.02.1944 Oblt. Matthias Düster(?) (stellv. Staffelführer)
<26.03.1944->25.04.1944 Oblt. Manfred Theves (Staffelführer)
~26.05.1944-14.10.1944 Hptm. Richard Riedl (Staffelführer)

The name Oblt. Matthias Düster is my assumption, I still could not 100% identify him.

This post still leaves us very much in the dark. Why don't you post the information you have, or you believe is correct, and see if members can sort it out for you?

19.08.42 Hptm. Gehring 6./ZG 1 R-5  75 232: at 300 m. 06.15 Film C. 2032/II Anerk: Nr. 57

Hptm. Oskar Gehring was StaKa 2./ZG1, not 6./ZG1! He came from 5./ZG2 and after was injured during Citadel with 2./ZG1, went to new formed ZG76.
