Re: 19-8-1944
Hello Alex,
The info on Bent and Wyman came from "They Shall Grow Not Old" (Les Allison). Beaufighter and Hudson file don't offer any help. Also could not find a USAAF loss on http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/s...y/Aug1942O.htm Title of the thread 19-8-1944 is incorrect and should be 19-8-1942, however I don't know how I have to change this. Regards, Henk. |

Re: 19-8-1944
Hello Henk,
I did write quite a long reply. But for some reason when i went to send it in I found it all dissapeared and that i was not loged in, which was a surprise as at the start i thought that i was. Alex In reply to the question it seems that there were six losses in August of 42 in the Med area of USAAC aircraft. take a look at the "Tables" offered within this site.Page 197 to start with . I started with 154 through to 209. All the best. Let me know what you find out please. |

Re: 19-8-1944
Hello Alex,
I have same problems answering your question. The website "tells" me that I'm not logged in! Became yesterday a new password! Already sent a message to the webmaster asking what's wrong. Answering your question: What do you mean with: "Tables offered within this site" ? Canadian source: accident of USAAF aircraft at Wadi Seidna (airfield north of Khartoum, Sudan) Aug.20/42. Date of death both airmen CWGC: Aug.19/42. The website mentioned in my previous entry has no USAAF loss in Africa (Sudan) on these dates. Regards, Henk. |

Re: 19-8-1944
Helo Henk,
The "Numbered USAAF Historical Studies" pages that are shown at the top of this site, first in the list. Click on there and a whole load of details is within. Takes a bit of a search though. All for now good hunting Alex |

Re: 19-8-1944
Hello Alex,
Sounds stupid but I don't see any link to "Numbered USAAF Historical Studies". On the top I see the buttons: Search * Links * Mission Statement * Contact AAIR and on the next line: Home * Services * Getting involved * Order accident reports * Weekend courses * Books * Resources * AAIR Database. BTW I again had to enter name and password before I could make use of the reply button. I do believe I quit and delete 12 o'clock high from my bookmarks. Regards, Henk. |

Re: 19-8-1944
Alex,
You missed my thread by almost 5½ year !! Unfortunately still have no idea what you mean to say with "Numbered USAAF Historical Studies on this 12 oclockhigh site, see S T I C K I E S". Also no idea were I may find the word "Tables". Not long ago visited my eye-doctor and he found them o.k. Maybe my age ? (almost 78). Still have no idea where to look and find possible info on US a/c lost in Africa 19-8-1942 (location Wadi Sedina) what may have been in Sudan because the Canadian passengers were buried in the Khartoum War Cem. Regards, Henk. |
