Hi,
It was a long time since I can grasp a little to come back here ! The 23 may 1940, around 6.45 pm, a plane, identified as a Heinkel, dropped his bombs on Alizay (a small town on the Seine River). As to a French source, this bomber would have been then chased by an "allied" squadron and probably brought down. I haven't find any loss of german bomber nor British claim confirming this event on this date. In the BoF t&n, I only found a Heinkel of II./KG 53 pancked the previous day around Rouen, after an aerial combat (but against which fighter unit ?). Does anybody of you have more informations about aerial activity of the RAF and Luftwaffe around the Rouen-Evreux area this tow days ? Best regards. |
