Trying to locate German pre-war base at Langensalza
Hello,
At least part of III./St.G.2 was based at and trained up at a place called Langensalza prior to the war. When I do a google map search, I come up with many Langensalza but as street names in German cities. Where in Germany or Austria is this Langensalza? Is this Bad Langensalza, the spa town in the State of Thuringia, Germany? There is no airfield there, at least not now, with the closest being at Erfurt. Is this Bad Langensalza the pre-war base for III./StG.2 or was this someplace else? Thanks for any help. Regards, Last edited by Larry Hickey; 18th July 2011 at 01:50.
