72 Sqn 14 Jul 41

Can anyone confirm that Sgt Bill Lamberton was flying R7219 when he became Priller's 40th victim?

Chris,

This is correct according to Franks in RAF Fighter Command Losses, Vol. 1. In the serial listing from http://www.spitfires.ukf.net/home.htm R7219 is shown as shot down on 14.07.41 with 72 Sqn. although the pilot is not named.

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Chris,

ORB confirms Sgt Lamberton failed to return on 14 Jul 41 while flying R7219.
