Niederfinow Boat Lift

I have been looking at a number of old photographs of the Niederfinow Boat Lift between Berlin and Stettin. I am wondering how this large and important piece of engineering managed to escape total destruction during the Second World War. Were there any plans or attacks made by the Allied Air Forces on this facility?
