Heinkel He115 6I+GL loss

On eBay there are a series of photos of the recovery of a crashed Heinkel He 115. Several photos show very clear depictions of the 3./KüFl.Gr. 706 or 906 emblem (including here and here). The seller claims it to be KüFl.Gr. 706. One photo also shows part of the unit code as __+GL, so presumably 6I+GL . Does anyone have further information?

Cheers

Ian

These were from a series of pictures sold recently on eBay and discussed over on the LEMB: http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/fo...=1&#entry75259

Re: Heinkel He115 6I+GL loss

The Küstenmehrzweckestaffel 3.(Mz.)/706 took on strength three He 115's towards the end of September 1939. This unit had the unit code 8L+- L. On October 25, 1939 this Staffel was redesignated Küstenfliegerstaffel 3./906 and continued with the same unit code 8L+ - L, the same unit badge and the same equipment of three He 115's and 10 He 59. The He 115's were transferred to 2./506 on 20 November 1939. It was not until mid March 1940 that 3./906 began converting from He 59 to He 115.
I have not found any major accident to a He 115 of 3./706 and 3./906 from the period of September 1939 to May 1940.
