Crash of Bomber at Lobenfeld near Meckesheim /Sinsheim
Hello all,
due anybody have information about a US, or britisch Plane crash ( 4 engine bomber) by the Village Lobenfeld, near Meckesheim, near Sinsheim? sorry, I have not more information and no Date of this crash. Thanks for your help. regards Klaus |

JB562 took part in the following Key Operations: Berlin 22/23Nov43; Berlin 26/27Nov43; Berlin 2/3Dec43; Berlin 16/17Dec43; Berlin 23/24Dec43; Berlin 29/30Dec43; Berlin 1/2Jan44; Brunswick 14/15Jan44; Berlin 27/28Jan44; Berlin 30/31Jan44; Berlin 15/16Feb44; Leipzig 19/20Feb44; Schweinfurt 24/25Feb44; Berlin 24/25Mar44; Nuremburg 30/31Mar44; Schweinfurt 26/27Apr44-Lost When lost this aircraft had a total of 301 hours. JB562 completed eleven operations against Berlin. JB562 was one of five No.106 Sqdn Lancasters lost on this operation. See: ME669; JB601; ND850; ND853 Airborne 2139 Metheringham. Cause of loss not established. Crashed at Eschelbronn, where those killed were buried, a small town 17 km SE of Heidelberg. They have been subsequently re-interred in the D_rnbach War Cemetery.
