S/L Cameron's combat report requested (24/05/44)

Dear All,

Taking here some 'pleasure' with "matching claim vs loss", I would be grateful if someone could provide me with the Combat report (or ORB page) of S/L Lorne M. Cameron (401 Sqn) claiming "on the deck" a FW 190D (sic) near Nivelles (resic) at 2015 on 24 May 1944.

It matches very well the loss of Uffz. Leopold SCHLÖGL's FW 190 A-8 WNr. 170114 (3./JG 26) near Froidchapelle, late afternoon.

I was unable to order it online so any help would be much appreciated.

Best regards

The combat report is in Air 50/136 frame 10.

Enjoy!

Frank.

General Report: I was leading 401 Squadron on RAMROD 917 when 5 miles east of Cambrai Blue 3 and 4 went down to attack a train and after the attack spotted a short nosed Fw.190. Blue Section were unable to jettison tanks, so could not close range. Red 2 and I had our tanks off and chased the Fw.190 along the deck for 45 miles to Nivelles, closed in to 200 yds. The enemy broke hard to port. I gave him a 1 second burst 60 degree angle and he flicked into a wood and blew up. I took pictures of the fire in the woods. I claim one Fw.190 destroyed.

If you need a scan of the entire Form 'F', please 'PM' me.

Stephen
