B-17G 48189 2nd Bombardment Group crash landed at Foggia or Lesina?

I have recently been given access to some negatives from a P-51 Pilot (Art Fiedler 325th FG) and in there was an image of a crash-landed B-17 of the 2nd BG with the tail number 48189.

I wonder if anyone has any details of this aircraft and what happened to it.

I believe the image was taken at either Foggia or Lesina, but I have no more details.

Thanks for any help or information, cheers, MP

This aircraft "bellied in Lake Lesina, near Foggia 13/11/44."

Apparently had run out of gas. Pilot Lt Sterling G. Trump according a 2nd BG website. Mission had been to Blechhammer, 13 Nov 44. Here Lesina is mentioned, near lake.

Regards,

Leendert
