19 Apr 44-II/KG 51 Loss at Bergen

Can anyone give any details as to the loss of Me 410 A-1 Wk Nr 420414 at Bergen at 0545 hrs on the above date? Lt Wolfgang Wenning & BF were apparently uninjured

Re: 19 Apr 44-II/KG 51 Loss at Bergen

Chris,

found this in the net:

Lt Wenning and Fw Gustav Delp (bordfunker) were killed on intruder operations over the UK 27/4/44.

at http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/photos...ng-kg51-18418/

Also tracked in the net the a/c's ID: 9K+ZP.

Hopefully this may help a little. Happy New Year!

Best Regards
Norbert

Re: 19 Apr 44-II/KG 51 Loss at Bergen

Norbert: Thank you but I have this; my question is 19 Apr not 27 Apr.

Matti: Thanks for this. I should have checked my NVM's first but where is the proof that Irmer was Wennig's BF? All I have is 420414 was as you say 9K+GP and "Bei rückkehr im Einmotoren brach das Fahrwehrk bei landing weg. Bergen/Nordholland" . Furthermore, this is logged as a 6/KG 51 loss and Wenning was Stab II/KG 51 (albeit when shot down he was in a 6 Staffel machine and his then BF was noted as 6 Staffel)

Hi Chris,
the damage is reported as 10-60% in the summary losses.

I don't know, who was the pilot. I just checked the WNr. you gave and that gave this result. I have no other KG 51 loss on that day.
