|
Two queries
— Can anyone tell me which unit used FPN L 55959 in October 1944?
— I have a reference from the same period to a Hptm. Lommel as Kapitän of a 2. Staffel. From the context it looks like this was in Jagdgruppe Ost but can anyone confirm that? Thanks in anticipation.

That's the number given in the source document but it is supposed to be the FPN of the former owner of a Bf 109, so it must be wrong. No wonder Allied Intelligence added a note: "unidentified."

I believe Lommel was the St Kap of 1/JG 52 in BofF & early BofB
