28/7/1943, Fokker factories at Amsterdam

Hi,

On 28th July 1943 the Fokker factories (repair facility for 190 ??) at Amsterdam was bombed (amongst others ?) by the 342 RAF squadron early in the morning.

However I wonder what are the results about this specific attack did during 12Grp Ramrod 2.

TIA

Bertrand

Bertrand,

Acc. to the German Lageberichte:
Two schools were destroyed, a church, seven houses, an instrumentfactory, a furnaturefactory,
an oxygenfactory and two small companies were hit.
Eleven Dutch persons were killed and ten severely wounded and a large number with small wounds.
The raid was not identified as a raid on the Fokker factory.

So it seems that they have missed the Fokker factories. The Fokker factories were building Bücker
Bestman and Arado planes at that time.

Hi Bertrand,

None of the bombs hit the targer, but under or overshot and came down in populated area and adjacent wharves.
I do have a RAF strike photo and interpretation report of this attack if it's of any use to you.

Regards,
Hans Nauta
