Hans Michelka 2./JG54 & 1./JGr.Ost

Morning fellow enthusiasts.

I am hoping that somebody could enlighten me about this obscure pilot, apart from his claim (and there were more than a few of them) I can find nothing on this guy at all. I assume he eked-out the war, or came to grief with a training unit somewhere. Grateful for any assistance like Date of Birth or Death.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: Hans Michelka 2./JG54 & 1./JGr.Ost

Hello Johannes,

I have Hans Michelka listed as born on 8. Dec. 1921 and no known date of death during wartime. Last rank was Oberfeldwebel.

Source is Hans Rings' "Pilotenkartei".

Thanks Carl

That information is incredibly useful to me, I guess he continued as a training pilot, and was little enough actual combat to survive the war.

Thanks again

Kind Regards

Johannes

Hi Matti

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Perhaps this is two pilots? Hans with JG54 and Kurt with JGr.Ost, but the injuries on 29th May 1944 wouldn't explain Hans abrupt claiming end!

Kind Regards

Johannes

P.S Or I might have got the forename wrong all along, or he could be Hans-Kurt or Kurt-Hans!

Hi Guys

Seems I had got the forename wrong all alomg. The micro films usually give rank and surname only, but his 13th October 1943 entries do give the forename of Kurt!

Thanks agian for all your help

Regards

Johannes
