Hans Michelka 2./JG54 & 1./JGr.Ost
Morning fellow enthusiasts.
I am hoping that somebody could enlighten me about this obscure pilot, apart from his claim (and there were more than a few of them) I can find nothing on this guy at all. I assume he eked-out the war, or came to grief with a training unit somewhere. Grateful for any assistance like Date of Birth or Death. Kind Regards Johannes claims are(the first seventeen with 2./JG54, the last with 1./JGr.Ost, all as a Unteroffizier):- 2nd September 1943 LaGG-3 5km SW of Jelnja 1714 hrs 3000 metres Nr.1 5th September 1943 LaGG-3 30km North of Moschna 1506 hrs 1500 metres Nr.2 7th September 1943 LaGG-3 15km WSW Kirov 1519 hrs 800 metres Nr.3 26th September 1943 Jak-9 SE Andrejewo 1555 hrs 1200 metres Nr.4 9th October 1943 P-39 0846 hrs 1200 metres Nr.5 11th October 1943 LaGG-3 1112 hrs 2100 metres Nr.6 12th October 1943 LaGG-3 South of Lenin 1547 hrs 1500 metres Nr.7 13th October 1943 LaGG-3 South of Lenin 0743 hrs 300 metres Nr.8 13th October 1943 P-40 10km North of Krassnyj 1012 hrs 50 metres Nr.9 22nd October 1943 LaGG-3 East of Arscha 0828 hrs 5500 metres Nr.10 5th November 1943 LaGG-3 ESE Nevel 1443 3000 metres Nr.11 30th November 1943 Il-2 25km NE Arscha 1136 300 metres Nr.12 30th November 1943 Il-2 22kn NE Arscha 1137 hrs 300 metres Nr.13 23rd December 1943 Il-2 1148 hrs 100 metres Nr.14 4th January 1944 Il-2 1143 hrs 800 metres Nr.15 12th January 1944 Jak-9 15km West of Vitebsk 0920 hrs 1500 metres Nr.16 3rd February 1944 Il-2 10km South of Tosno 1415 hrs 10 metres Nr.17 29th May 1944 B-17 1310 hrs 5500 metres Nr.18 |

Re: Hans Michelka 2./JG54 & 1./JGr.Ost
Hello Johannes,
I have Hans Michelka listed as born on 8. Dec. 1921 and no known date of death during wartime. Last rank was Oberfeldwebel. Source is Hans Rings' "Pilotenkartei". HTH Carl

Thanks Carl
That information is incredibly useful to me, I guess he continued as a training pilot, and was little enough actual combat to survive the war. Thanks again Kind Regards Johannes |

Re: Hans Michelka 2./JG54 & 1./JGr.Ost
Hi Matti
Thanks for getting back to me on this. Perhaps this is two pilots? Hans with JG54 and Kurt with JGr.Ost, but the injuries on 29th May 1944 wouldn't explain Hans abrupt claiming end! Kind Regards Johannes P.S Or I might have got the forename wrong all along, or he could be Hans-Kurt or Kurt-Hans! |

Re: Hans Michelka 2./JG54 & 1./JGr.Ost
Hi Guys
Seems I had got the forename wrong all alomg. The micro films usually give rank and surname only, but his 13th October 1943 entries do give the forename of Kurt! Thanks agian for all your help Regards Johannes |
