Ian, what is your source for that? KG 54 was flying the Ju 88 in Russia. A hack machine maybe?

Re: He 111 WNr 7418

I think Ian's source for WNr 7418 being coded B3+FK was a picture sold at Ebay recently. I'm afraid he is wrong. The tactical code was S3+DH. I'm wondering if anything else is know about this a/c.

Regards,
Rudi.

Re: He 111 WNr 7418

Hi Rudi

Thanks for the correction. The stkz of GJ+JB for 7418 is however probably correct as this is from a different source.

I had another look at the eBay photo you refer to and am still sure that it is _3+FK, certainly not _3+DH. But S3+FK of TGr. 30 seems more likely than B3+FK

That unit certainly makes more sense than KG 54. That particular WNr. is missing from my database, though I have both WNr. 7417 (KG 26) and WNr. 7419 (KG 100). Thanks guys.

Re: He 111 WNr 7418

Hi Ian,

The seller had pictures of 2 different a/c on auction at Ebay. He identified them as B3+DH & B3+FK.

- It turned out that the geschwadercode was S3 and not B3 for both a/c.
- It was S3+DH which had the WNr 7418 visible on the tail, not S3+FK as you can clearly see in the attached picture.

Regards,
Rudi.

Re: He 111 WNr 7418

Thanks Rudi.

On the last column of my own database I had noted "WNr. ID from seller is not verified", which I should have noted before I sent the first post. Thanks for your photo, which clearly confirms the WNr to be for S3+DH.

The stkz of GJ+JB for 7418 is part of an entire stkz block for He 111 H-6, so we can also confidently add this to S3+DH.

Cheers
Ian

Re: He 111 WNr 7418

7418 was with TGr.30 i. Mai 44 , at the workshop , in Focsani, no trace of him in late 44 or 45, probably stay there
