Bf 110

Hello gentlemen,

A photo with the remains of Bf110, I believe. An incomplete date (25/4…) perhaps 1944. one of you would have the loss of Bf110 this 25/4/1944, in the north of France ? Thank you for your assistance. Cordially.

Re: Bf 110

24 Apr 44, Bf 110 night fighters came down at Breuil sur Vesle and La Ville aux Bois; nothing 24-25 April, 25 April and 25-26 April for northern France

Re: Bf 110

hello Chris,
It is not of these villages, but Rambures near Abbeville.
I posed this enigma with little hope… The date is perhaps erroneous. There are many young civilians on this empennage, this photo has could be made with the release, after the departure of German (at the end of August 44), because they did not let approach the wrecks of theirs planes.
Thank you.

Re: Bf 110

The tail looks more like a Do 17 not a Bf 110. Latter has more vertical fin below the horizontal than in the foto

Re: Bf 110

More likely a Do-217 of KG 2/KG-40.
Eduardo.

Re: Bf 110

Yes it's true, that resembles more a Dornier . Well considering Sirs. You know if there are many of 2. /KG40 lost between April 25th, 1944 and September 2nd, 1944, in the north of France ? If KIA they are buried in the German cemetery of Bourdon.

Re: Bf 110

KG 40 no longer flew the Do 217 and there are simply too many possibilities in a 5 month period. Must not forget KG 100 which was also flying Do 217. I can see no mention of Rambures or Abbeville. Don't forget you are not 100% sure of the year not just the date! Maybe you need to consult Gendarmerie records?

Re: Bf 110

Thank you Chris, I had little hope. The archives are the best solution. With a little chance.
