Bf 109E; VO+CD, Really?

Hi gents,

Here under a recent eBay picture and its caption picked up elsewhere, given by a friend.
But, VO+CD really?
I think VO+CD was an Ar96, VC+CD a He111, left a Bf109E-7 VG+CD.
Camo and markings "Gelbe 25" match with 3.JGr. Logiskeit, why not but StKz is wrong for me.

Comments? Thank you!
I'm sure there will be a lot of comments concerning StKz, as usual!! .

Regards, Franck.

Using the identical photo LBB Stammkennzeichenliste lists this Bf109 as Bf109E-7 VG+CD WNr 4950.

Regards

Roland

Re: Bf 109E; VO+CD, Really?

Good morning Roland,

I was a little bit late in my answer, sorry and thank you. And confuse too since when I started this thread the picture wasn't yet in LBB Stammkennzeichenliste; As if the gentleman took my suggestion for good.
The corresponding WNr for VG+CD was in this site but not the picture!

Anyway, we had a hard fight in TOCH columns some times ago about the VG+?? serie and corresponding WNrs that's the reason I didn't dare to give that WNr.
And trully I think that it is another example of I-complete-the-serie-without-checking place as commented many times by Rasmussen.
They do a big job too but sometimes they take it strait without checking ...
So, in this case, the only way, for me to check the veracity of this StKz was to check the AR 96B StKz... Am I clear?

The second step should have been, once we get the StKz, to talk about the WNr.

Hence, I think we have no 100% answer on this one yet.

Cheers, Franck.
