Losses of recon planes 25.07.1942 in 4 Lfl.

Gentlemen,

Were there any more losses of Fw-189 on July 25, 1942 in Luftflotte 4, except w.n. 0149 of 5(H)/12 to Jagerbeschuss in Morosowskaja area. 90%
Lt. Hermann Leipolt - WIA, Uffz. Herbert Ritter - MIA?

TIA

Hi, Nikita

None that I can find. No other FW 189 reported lost at all this date.

Regards,
Andreas B

Thank you, Gentlemen,

I have all this but I thought I had missed something. Soviet records indicate 4 crewmen captured. Rather puzzling case...Ritter indeed went into confinement, but who were the rest...

Could it be from an aircraft shot down the day before?

You mean Ju-88A-4 w.n. 3834 or another Fw-189 w.n.2202? As far as I know the later's two crewmen were only wounded...

Could it be a badly readable number ? 1 and 4 can be confused on old written documents.

Yes, 3834, because according to NVM all four crew members are MIA. Also 22.7.1942 He 111H-6, 7249 and Ju 88A-4, 6731 are similar cases, where personnel is MIA.

Matti,

Unfortunately, the locations differ a lot in all three cases.

Laurent,

"Four" was in letters not in numbers.
