Re: Loss of Uffz. Heinz troost + 22.02.41
Melvin,
Luft. QMs reports shows the loss of Ju88 A-5 L1+JP (6/LG1) wn 2172, then underneath the crew of Ltn Eugen Celik, B Uffz Heinz Troost, Bf Uffz Gunther Bs Fw Ernst Geske all of 7/LG1 with note bei II/LG1 mit geflogen. So I assume a 7/LG1 crew in a 6/LG1 aircraft. They are shown on an 'H' flight cause unknown and all missing changed to killed . The LG1 History has them as killed on a flight Munchen to Catania but shows the aircraft as coded L1+JR, Regards Brian Bines |

Re: Loss of Uffz. Heinz troost + 22.02.41
The death notice says (or at least it's what I make out of it) that he and his comrades found their last resting place at Reggio, S. Italy.
He's now buried at the German cemetery at Pomezia, Italy. Regards, Leendert |
