Waht happened to Fw. Leo Suschko?
I see his 11 and 12 victories in JFV 9/II on July 31, 1942 with 2/JG3. What was his further fate and career?

Re: Waht happened to Fw. Leo Suschko?
Hi guys
I have him born on 19th February 1918. On 28th September 1940 he force-landed his Bf109 on the beach at Le Portel, France after combat with the RAF, but was unhurt. On 30th October 1940 he made another force-landing when he brought his Bf109 at wissant, but again was unhurt. On 22nd June 1941 he was shot down in combat with Russian SB-2' and was listed as missing, his Bf109 coming down in the region south-East of Dudno, he returned two days later. I can confirm his death as 21st Fevruary 1999. As for being the Staffelkapitän of 6./Jg108 this would explain in part his efforts after 21st July 1942. I have nine claims(all confirmed) for him(the first eight as an Unteroffizier with 4./Jg3, the last one as a Feldwebel with 2./Jg3):- 8th August 1941 I-153 10km South-East of Krementschug 1110 hrs 1000 metres Nr.1 8th August 1941 DB-3 1125 hrs Nr.2 9th August 1941 DB-3 0951 hrs Nr.3 17th August 1941 DB-3 0910 hrs Nr.4 17th August 1941 DB-3 0911 hrs Nr.5 17th August 1941 SB-3 1743 hrs Nr.6 17th August 1941 DB-3 1747 hrs Nr.7 22nd August 1941 R-5 10km South-West of Dnepropetrovsk 0954 hrs 800 metres Nr.8 21st July 1941 Il-2 At Morosowskaja 1112 hrs Nr.9. Regards Johannes P. S If he was a Staffelkapitän surely he ended the war as a Leutnant or Oberleutnant? |
