Kurt Buehlingen first techincal faul or "friendly" Ships Flak
I have an interview with Kurt Buehlingen from "Airpower" (May 1986). In this article he mentions the following incident:
"Another 1941 event that Buehlingen remembered was the incident that nearly caused him to become a casualty. He had been in the process of making a firing run on a twin engined Bristol Blenheim over the English Channel when flak from an unidentified ship arced upwards and exploded near the front of the aircraft...Buehlingen had no choice but to bring his crate down in the ocean, This was the first of three wartime forced landings the ace had to make."
I have the loss list for JG-2 for 1941 and cannot date this incident.
There is one incident from Feb 9,1941 from Erg JG-2 where the pilot (unidentified) was rescued by Air sea rescue?
