Baltimore V FW 608crashed 26 april 1945 Anguillara Veneta
Hi all,
last saturday,Romagna Air Finders,began the excavation of a 15 sqdn SAAF baltimore,crashed in Anguillara Veneta (Po area). the presence of a 250lbs bomb,stopped the digging prematurely,but we were able to recover humain remains from the crew, a lot of airframe pieces & the compass too. We were honoured by the presence of MArk Mathias,Maj.Pil. Walter Mathias nephew. Friday,maybe,we will continue with the excavation,if the artificers will neutralize the bomb(s) I would like to thanks Mr Stefaan Bouwer for his support, the Mathias,the field owner,the eyewitness and all the volunteers partecipated to excavation.
