Need to confirm possible I./KG 3 unit emblems for the 1939-40 period

Hi Chaps

I found the pictures of a silver goblet at http://www.germaniainternational.com/luft18.html (scroll down half the page) which looks a genuine and a period piece. Two of the emblems are well known and accounted for in many photos on aircraft and other sources. However the emblem marked 3./KG3 poses a bit of an issue. I passed this by Larry Hickey who is up to his ears with work but would now like some clarification on the status of this emblem. Has anybody have any photos, or a source for photos, of this emblem in use on aircraft, or know sources that confirm its attachement to I./KG3 and its component units? Ketley and Rolf in Luftwaffe Emblems 1996 have this emblem as Stab I./KG3 incuding 1, 2 and 3./KG3 (280, 282, 283 and 285 respectively). The aircraft in question that should have used this emblem would be Do 17zs.

Any help would be appreciated!

Regards

Chris

Guess it always helps to include some visuals and also correct the title page from KG28 to KG3 (doh!)

Goblet with the unconfirmed KG 3 emblem
