RN aerial claims on D-Day (friendly fire)
Good morning to all!
I am trying to figure out how many aerial claims were submitted or accounted by Royal Navy gunners/ships (or/and US Navy) on D-Day (6th June 1944). I am trying to figure out the overall number and identify which ship claimed a Mustang Ia from 168 Squadron, which was shot down over water and blew up, hit by A-A friendly fire, on that day. ANY link (I have tried for several hours to find a definite record of claims, etc...and so far no joy!) is most welcomed. Thanks in advance, Adriano S. BAUMGARTNER
