Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Multiple Claims against fighters 1944-45

In looking at the amount of recorded multiple LW pilot claims (3 or more) against late war Allied fighters, I can only think of a few examples:

1) Adolf Glunz (JG-26) 3 P-47 victories on June 10, 1944, reportedly against the 365th FG

2) Fw. Konrad Bauer (JG-300) 3 P-51 Mustang victories on Sept 11,1944

3) Maj. Meimberg's (JG-53) 3 P-47 victories on Dec 26,1944.

4) Hpt. Weissenberger (JG-5) 3 P-47 victories July 7,1944

5) Hptm Buhlingen 2 P-47 & 1 P-51 July 5,1944

Can anyone add some more?

6) Hptm Huppertz - 3 Typhoons, 1 P-51 and 1 P-47(prob P-51) on June 6,1944.

I know about Heinrich Bartel's claims, but I did not include them because he tended to overclaim.

Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Multiple Claims Against Fighters 1944-45

Hi guys

According to P-47 Thunderbolt Aces of the Ninth and Fifteenth Air Forces by Scutts, Leutnant Heinz Kemethmüller, Staffelkapitän of 4./JG 26, claimed two confirmed and one damaged P-47 fighters on 12 July 1944. The 366th Fighter Squadron, 358th Fighter Group, USAAF lost three aircraft in the aerial combat. Could anyone identify these specific pilots and aircraft if this information is accurate?

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Multiple Claims against fighters 1944-45

Taken from some old notes and perhaps all these claims have been already cleared out as regards their validity but I mention them whatsoever:
Wilhelm Hofman of JG 26 claimed 2 Mustangs and a P-38 on 25/08/1944,
also Obl Schall on a Me-262 claimed 3 fighters 2 P-51 and 1 P-47 on 8/11/1944.
Maj Buehlingen of JG2 claimed 2 P-47 and 1 P-51 on 5/07/1944, and Lt Mors of JG5 claimed 3 P-38 on 18/07/1944 and 3 Typhoons on 19/07/1944.
Fw Zwesken claimed 3 P-38 and 1 B-24 on 22/08/1944.
We have of course the multiple claims by Hptm Emil Lang over Normandy and also Lt Lemke of JG2 claimed 2 P-47 and a Spitfire on 7/06/1944 along with 3 Spits on 27/03/1944 and 4 Spits on 9/02/1944, I guess the last two were during his Gruppe brief sojourn over Italy in early 1944.
Furthermore Hptm Karch of JG2 claimed 3 Thunderbolts in one day of December 1944,
Lt Thyben claimed also 3 P-38 on 11/02/1944 and what about Obslt Rodel claiming 3 Thunderbolts on 29/06/1944.
I also have Obfw Ehrenberger of JG53 claiming 3 P-51 on 4/03/1944 along with Fw Feyerlein claiming 3 Mustangs himself on the same day.
Finally, Hptm Weissenberger made multiplr claims over Normandy namely 5 P-47 on 7/06/1944 , 3 P-47 on 12/06/1944, 3 P-47 on 7/07/1944 and 3 Typhoons and a P-51 on 19/07/1944.
I have also an Fw Muller claiming 3 Spitfires on 19/02/1944, and Obstl Bar claiming 3 P-47 on 27/03/1945.

Re: Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Multiple Claims against fighters 1944-45

That's right, I forgot about Schall and his three victories, which were two P-47Ds of the 356th FG and 1 P-51 from the 357th FG.

I've never been able to confirm the three P-47s claimed by Baer on March 27,1945. Walter Dahl flew with him on this mission. Any more info?

Does anyone what date Hptm Karch (JG2) claimed his P-47s?

Re: Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot Multiple Claims against fighters 1944-45

For Leo Etgen:

Kemethmueller's victories on 12.7.44. 366th FS, 358th FG. Overclaiming - only one loss: P-47D-20-RE 42-76466/IA-M of Edward P Blevins KIA over Mesnil-sur-l'Estree.

...I'd welcome any correction if somebody perhaps knows that more were lost...

Nick
