Hello Jens,

USAAF claims for 14.2.45 seem to be very close to the true losses. This was a very buisy day with multiple action against UK and USA on the Westfront. The heavy bombers and their escort were enganged mainly (?)by JG 300 and JG 301 which reported quite a few losses due to enemy action:

I./JG 300 lost 1 Bf 109 and 1 Bf 109 damaged.
III./JG 300 lost 2 Bf 109 and 2 Bf 109 damaged.

II/JG 300 had 6 Fw 190 lost and one damaged.
I./JG 301 lost 2 Fw 190 and one damaged.
II/JG 301 lost 2 Fw 190 "Doras and one A-9.

10 pilots were killed and 2 wounded.

HTH

Carl

Great answer.
Little bit OT:
Does anybody knows something about P-51 losses during the attack of dresden?
