Uffz Seidler, Lost Normandy, 24.07.1944.
Seeking any info, his EKM is given as 68455/507, and the place of death is
North-West of Caumont, thanks for any help. Joe |

Re: Uffz Seidler, Lost Normandy, 24.07.1944.
Joe, there is a brief 'K' report which shows him as 10/KG2 and the JG2 loss list shows Uffz. Karl Seidler killed in combat with P47s while flying Fw190A8 931330 black '9' of 10/JG2 N/W of Caumont at 1500hrs,

Uffz Seidler, Lost Normandy, 24.07.1944.
Hi guys
Not that I can add anything to what Brian has posted but I am nearly certain that the werknummer given is actually that of a Norddeutsche Dornier Werke built Fw 190 F-8. Horrido! Leo |

Re: Uffz Seidler, Lost Normandy, 24.07.1944.
Hi Leo, having checked the loss list it does give 931330 but there is no other 931??? lost in the same period there is a 431157 lost the next day. As Seidler's and other 190's in the period are A-8s is it possible the 9 is a typo ?

Uffz Seidler, Lost Normandy, 24.07.1944.
Hello Brian
431 157 would be that of an AGO built Fw 190 A-7. I was thinking that perhaps it was a typo for 731 330 which would be that of an AGO built Fw 190 A-8 but there appears to have been no werknummer block that would have included that number as the production blocks were 731 001 to 731 120 and then 731 390 to 731 480. Perhaps he was flying a Fw 190 F-8 after all? Horrido! Leo |

Re: Uffz Seidler, Lost Normandy, 24.07.1944.
Thanks to Brian and Leo,
Most helpful, I will need to confirm Seidler's EKM, a copy of the NVM would be a great help, also there is Caumont-l'Evente and Caumont-sur-Orne, which one is correct? Thanks again. Joe |
