Re: 61st troop carrier group
Hello Josh,
Details from "Support & Strike". 61st Troop Carrier Group. Squadron Codes: 14th TCS = "31". 15th TCS = "Y9". 53rd TCS = "3A". 59th TCS = "X5". On the 17th Sept 44 72 a/c left Barkston Heath carrying British Paratroops, the next day 123 CG-4 gliders were towed with reinforcements. Were the Squadron codes were changed for this operation ? I think not, but it is possible i supose. 7 MACR's for the 18th - 1, C-47-6 CG-4A's. 2 MACR's for the 19th - 2, C-47's 1 MACR for the 23rd - 1, C-47 Details on Flag 3 and Aviation Archaeology website's. Alex. |
