Re: Info 1 Lt. Richard L Alderman 366 FG

Hi !

Richard Alderman' s P-47 a/c came down at about 15:15 h near Werode, which is about 6 km West of Düren, Germany. The case is filed in
MACR 10873 and mentioned in Luftgaukommando-Report # J 2524. All files indicate, that the pilot was killed in the crash.

All the best,

Horst Weber

Thumbs up Re: Info 1 Lt. Richard L Alderman 366 FG

Horst,

I did some research on this event. I will contact you offline.
In short,he has no known grave, but was definitely recovered by German Troops. The correct spelling of the village is MERODE.
He was shot down by Flak together with two other P-47s almost at the same spot.

Joerg
