JG54 loss on the 11.02.1944
Hi Guys,

Today I am searching for the loss data relating to Uffz. Briggemeier who was killed on the 11th February 1944. I believe he was a member of the 7th Staffel. Any further details would be really appreciated.

1944-02-11, 7./JG 54, Bf 109 G-6, 411421, 8 gelbe (3 gelbe?), Polch, 7 km südöstlich Mayen und 21 km südwestlich Koblenz, Feindbeschuß. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer Uffz Brüggemeier, Friedrich, +
Grab: Mannheim-Friedhof Neckarau

Another case for interpretation - a digit "3" typed with "strong fingers" may appear as an "8" on the third or more carbon copy. In this case i would plead for a "3".

my copy is of quite good quality, so I am shure about "gelbe 8".

Guys, Heuser kindly sent me the NVM and indeed I think he is correct with Gelbe 8, I am confident to use it from now on.

When the Luftwaffe reorganized in summer/fall of 1944, the Staff became part of the "new" II Gruppe with 4 per Gruppe, hence the yellow color.
