Color shot of Fürth aircraft dump needed

Hey guys,

There is a famous color shot of an aicraft dump at Fürth...has some Me109K's, Fw190 D-9...all in a hole.

I seem to have lost my high res image...can anyone re-post?

TIA

Mike

Hi Mike,

not a very Hi-Res version I'm afraid, but there you go!

Cheers,
Christian

Hi Giampiero,
not a hundred percent sure, but it should be either in Jet&Prop 2/94 or 3/94...At least that's were I saw it for the first time

For me the obvious follow on question, is was the hole buried (and relics within) and potentially still exists unfound? Or was it left open and been scavenged over the years?

The hole is still there...but it is now under a forest. Supposedly some people have tried digging, but there is really nothing left...and it is nearly impossible.

I do not know the where in Germany, but circa late '70's one of the many I am sure left over aviation dumps. You can pick out some items here and there.

Holy ... What a sight, and that long after the war Looks like there was enough stuff to fill the cabinets of every member here. If only one could find or dig up a treasure trove like this today. Thanks for those pics!
