9663-1X13 Part of B-17 or B-24???
Gentlemen, here is something else...
This aircraft crashed southwest of Vienna and probably during spring to fall of 1944 - we have no exact date. So far withnesses can remember there were no dead crewmember at the crashplace. We found several minor parts without numbers and this one - see pictures attached. The part is made of aluminum, colored in two different shades of green, has two different sizes of rivets on it and shows the number "9663-1X13". Can anyone identify this number in a part manual? I appreciate any kind of help. Thank's a lot in advance! |

Hello Kurtl,
I may be wrong but I think that it may have been a part from a B-25 Mitchell bomber. see aviation archaeology website reference section. Numbers started with "96". Alex |
