A B-17 in Cracaw in 1945?

It is interesting what kind of B-17 G (I suppose?) had landed in Cracow in Poland in 1945 (when, unit, reason)?

Cracow is possible but not sure
Regards,
mw

Hi Mirek,

this is B-17G-35-BO, 42-32083 "Flatbush Floozie (or Floogie)" of the 731st BS / 452nd BG. The plane participated in a mission to Berlin on 26 February 1945, was hit and force-landed at Liszki, near Cracow. The area was already back under soviet/polish control and the crew was later returned to England.

Here is another photo of her in flight: https://scontent-b-vie.xx.fbcdn.net/...55922566_n.jpg

Cheers,
Christian
